Willmott becomes third defenseman called to ECHL

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. - Mississippi RiverKings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser announced today that defenseman Dean Willmott has been called up to ECHL Missouri. There is no timetable for his return.

Willmott, 25, is in his second professional season and first with the RiverKings. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound blueliner appeared in all 27 games for the RiverKings and collected three goals and 12 assists. His +13 plus/minus rating is tied for fourth amongst defensemen in the league. The Toronto, Ontario native appeared in 21 games with the Brampton Beast last season after completing his collegiate career at Ryerson University (OUAA).

Willmott's call up is the sixth of the season for the RiverKings and third on the blueline. The team now has six players on loan to ECHL teams.

The RiverKings return to Concorde Career College Ice at the Landers Center on Friday, January 22 at 7:05 p.m. in a rematch against the Louisiana IceGators. It's the annual Dachshund Dash presented by Autobahn Indoor Speedway. Come for the hockey and stay for our wiener dog races on ice during the first intermission. THANK YOU for making Dean's stay in Memphis so great. The team and the community really came through welcoming him as you did. He was a long way from home... He always has spoken highly of the organization, the community and particularly his sponsor family (Peggy et al).
