Veteran Presence Added to Blueline

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- Mississippi RiverKings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser announced Friday that the team has signed defenseman Matt Suderman to a contract. Terms and conditions were not released.

Suderman, 30, was a 7th round draft choice of the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. The 6'3", 235 lbs. native of Winkler, Man. last played professionally for the Dundee Stars of the Elite Ice Hockey League (United Kingdom). In 51 games, Suderman posted one goal and four assists along with 159 penalty minutes.

He will dress tonight when the 'Kings take on the Mississippi Surge.

The RiverKings are back in action tonight against the Mississippi Surge. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. with all the action broadcasting live on the America One Sports Network and on riverkings.com. The 'Kings return to the Landers Center tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. as they battle the Columbus Cottonmouths.
