SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- Six goals in the final two periods erased a 3-1 RiverKings lead as the Mississippi RiverKings (12-11-3) fell to the Knoxville Ice Bears (13-9-1) 7-5 on Saturday night in Knoxville.

The first period saw the RiverKings jump out to an early lead. Jeremy Dawes ripped a wrist shot past Peter Skoggard's blocker to put the 'Kings up by one. Under a minute later, Mike MacDonald collected his first goal as a member of the RiverKings and 3:46 seconds into regulation, the visitors were up two. Peter Skoggard was lifted for Connor Toomey after allowing two goals on five shots.

Knoxville came back at the 7:57 mark of the first. Matt Pierce finished off a tic-tac-toe passing play on a three-on-two to beat David Wilson to cut the 'Kings lead to one. But the 'Kings came back. Steven Kaunisto's wrister from the point beat Toomey low, glove side to give the RiverKings their two-goal lead back heading into the first intermission.

The second period saw the score reverse. After killing off a Brad Pawlowski penalty, the Ice Bears converted. Pawlowski's wrist shot found the back of the net and the Ice Bears cut their deficit to two early in the second. Three minutes later, at the 4:16 mark, Tyler Fernandez picked up his fourth goal in as many games against the RiverKings, on a snap shot over the glove of David Wilson to tie the game at three. The 'Kings retook the lead at the 13:36 mark of the second on Nick Walsh's fifth goal of the year as he collected a rebound in front of Toomey and beat him five-hole to give the visitors a 4-3 lead. But five minutes later, Brett Valliquette's redirect in front of Wilson, beat the RiverKings' netminder to send the game into the second intermission tied at four.

The RiverKings scored first in the third, as Patrick Gaul's shot from the circle beat Toomey to give the 'Kings a 5-4 lead with under 15 minutes left to play. But Knoxville took over from there. Two goals in a minute's time from Berkely Scott and Eric Satim gave the Ice Bears the 6-5 lead with just over ten minutes remaining in regulation. Knoxville added an insurance goal on Jon Higgins beat Wilson five-hole as the Ice Bears took a 7-5 from the 'Kings on home ice.

David Wilson (5-5-1) took the loss stopping 28 of 35 shots against. Conner Toomey (9-5-1) tallied the win after stopping 22 of 25 shots against in relief of Peter Skoggard.
