MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Coach Derrick Landmesser and RiverThing made an appearance July 19, at Trafalgar Baptist Church summer camp in the “Sticks are for Kids” program.

Victoria Hart and Landon Mercer, both 6, suited up in goalie gear as Coach Landmesser explained which each piece was for and the basics of hockey. Afterward, the kids picked up hockey sticks and divided into teams to go head to head in several rounds of hockey.

“The kids really enjoyed it,” Trafalgar Baptist Church Day Care Director Linda Rowland said. “The mascot was great fun and the kids liked being able to ask the coach questions.”

Trafalgar summer camp runs from May 29 – August 3. The camp teaches children in grade kindergarten through 6th a variety of subjects including arts and crafts in a fun and educational manner.
