Sticks are for Kids Stops By the Harding Academy Summer Camp at Cordova

SOUTHAVEN, Miss –  Another morning, another exciting Sticks are for Kids program with a local kids group. On Friday, the RiverKings, along with RiverThing, visited the Harding Academy Cordova Campus and brought their exciting hockey lessons and games to 20+ girls and boys.

After learning drills and working on some of the basics skills of hockey including stick handling and shooting, the players broke into four teams of five players based on age and faced off in two separate games. Even RiverThing got involved and helped out as best he could.

The Sticks are for Kids initiative is aimed at introducing kids of all ages to the sport of hockey and also teaching some of the fundamentals like rules and objectives as well as encouraging sportsmanship and fair play.
