HERNANDO, Miss.—Mississippi RiverKings’ mascot Sheldon the turtle worked on his swing as he played golf with students of Hernando Hills Elementary on May 3.

Hernando Hills Elementary held their field day for students to enjoy various activities including an 18-hole miniature golf course designed by the students.

“This was a science, technology, engineering, and math assignment in which students learned the geometry of golf clubs and angles as well as the differentiation of hockey sticks and golf clubs,” 3rd grade teacher Angela Thompson said. “We then learned about the many types of levers including hockey sticks and saw them in action at the Face Off Field Trip.”

If you would like Sheldon to visit your school or event, please contact Caitlyn Hutchins at Caitlyn@riverkings.com or 662.342.1755.
