Sheldon walks at CSF Unite@Nite Walk

HORN LAKE, Miss. – Mississippi RiverKings mascot Sheldon the Turtle participated in the first annual Chiari & Syringomyelia Foundation (CSF) Unite@Nite Walk at Latimer Lakes Park in Horn Lake Sunday evening.

The walk raised money for the Horn Lake chapter of CSF, a national foundation aimed at finding a cure for Chiari malformation (CM), syringomyelia (SM) and related disorders. The Horn Lake chapter was formed earlier in 2015.

"Sheldon being at our CSF Unite@Nite Walk really shows the Mississippi RiverKings community support for our cause," said Lisa Murphy, co-chair for the CSF Unite@Nite walk. "We are united to show support, share awareness and raise funds for research towards a cure for these conditions."

Sheldon was there to greet the walkers when they checked in before the mile-long walk through Latimer Lakers Park. Sheldon also started the walk with the rest of the group and led the way for the first portion before stopping to give high-fives to the walkers as they passed.
