LAST WEEK RECAP:
The Mississippi RiverKings (18-21-6) are coming off of a three-in-three week where they tallied four out of six possible points. On Thursday, the 'Kings defeated their in-state rival Mississippi Surge in overtime, before falling to the first-place Louisiana IceGators 4-3 on Friday. The team then returned home Saturday night to take on the IceGators again, where Chris Campanale's natural hat trick pushed the 'Kings over the Ice Flyers 5-1.

MISSISSIPPI MILESTONES: Mike MacDonald tallied his 200th point in Friday night's game against Louisiana. Matt Whitehead is sixteen points away from his 200th career point and nine games away from his 200th professional game.

ROSTER MOVES: Prior to Saturday night's game, forward Tom Craig signed a contract, defenseman Hunter Syrydiuk was place on the 30 day IR and forward Jeremy Dawes was placed on the season ending IR.

WHITE HOT: Matt Whitehead extended his point-scoring streak to five games Saturday night with four assists in the win over Louisiana. He has 9 points (3G, 6A) and is +3 in his last five games and is seventh among scoring leaders in the SPHL. Matt Harrington extended his point-scoring streak to six games Saturday and has six points (2G, 4A) in his last five games.

VIEW FROM FAYETTEVILLE: Fayetteville enters the two-game series this weekend 7-3-0 in their last ten games. Fayetteville tallied four out of six possible points in a three-in-three weekend last week. They are coming off of a 3-2 win over the last-place Augusta RiverHawks Sunday on the road.  Both teams headed into the third period tied at one, until Anthony Bergin beat Robert Moss on the power play to take a one-goal lead. John Clelow added to the lead with an empty net goal with :40 remaining in the game. Matt Auffrey netted a goal with eight seconds remaining for Augusta, but the FireAntz held off the RiverHawks for the reminder of the game to take away a 3-2 win. Josh McQaude leads the SPHL with 62 points (62) and goals (35).

LAST TIME WE MET: The last time the 'Kings and FireAntz met was on home ice at the Lander's Center January 3. The 'Kings had a 4-2 lead heading into the third period until Josh McQuade cut the lead by one early in the third period. The RiverKings responded midway through the third to take a 5-3 lead. With five minutes remaining in the game, Brandon Richardson beat Matthew Krahn to make it a 5-4 game, but the RiverKings held of the FireAntz for the remainder of the game. Todd Hosmer tallied three points (2G, 1A) in the win.
