SOUTHAVEN, Miss. – The Mississippi RiverKings took a two-goal lead into the final ten minutes of play, but the Louisiana IceGators forced overtime and took Game 3 to end the RiverKings’ season with a 5-4 win.

Louisiana started the scoring six minutes into the first. Jordan Foreman’s wrist shot beat Matt Krahn glove side to put the ‘Gators ahead by one. But the RiverKings fought back late in the period when Kyle Lundale’s power-play goal beat Breton Lindoff to send the game tied into the intermission.

Four minutes into the second period, Matt Harrington found the back of the net to put the RiverKings ahead by one.

Louisiana wasted no time tying the game in the third. Shawn McNeil’s backhander beat Krahn high just 14 seconds into the final frame to tie it at two.

But the RiverKings found their scoring touch a minute later. Darrell Stoddard beat Lindoff 1:06 into the period to give the visitors the lead. Three minutes later, the RiverKings struck again. Henry Coxe found Tom Craig on a breakaway and Craig beat Lindoff between the legs to put the RiverKings ahead 4-2 with 16:12 remaining.

The IceGators chipped away when Matt Robertson picked up his second goal of the playoff series to bring the ‘Gators within one. Then, with 4:23, a broken-stick shot landed right on the tape of Jeremy Boyer who beat Matt Krahn to send the game to overtime.

Just 1:08 into overtime, Matt Miller took Shawn McNeil’s pass and slid the puck between the legs of Krahn to end the RiverKings season.

Matt Krahn (1-2) took the loss after stopping 23 of 28 shots on goal. Breton Lindoff (2-0) took the loss after stopping 27 of 31 shots against.
