RiverKings Make Trio of Moves Ahead of Opening Night

SOUTHAVEN, Miss - The RiverKings and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser have announced a trio of moves ahead of Friday night's home-opener.

After making a move to acquire forward Trever Hertz from Knoxville on Monday, Hertz was part of a second deal this week when Mississippi dealt him to Pensacola in exchange for future considerations.

Coach Landmesser wasn't finished there, as the team also signed free agent forward Vytal Cote and free agent defenseman Robbie Hall.

Cote, 21, began 2016-17 in Fayetteville where he played in 10 games registering one goal and one assist. The final 40 games of the season, Cote played for Evansville where he added another goal and eight more assists. Previously, the Hollywood, FL, native played for Victoriaville, Acadie-Bathurst, and Val-d'Or of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Hall, 25, comes to the RiverKings after playing four seasons in NCAA Div. III with SUNY- Brockport. Once his college career finished, Hall competed in 11 games in the SPHL with the Evansville Thunderbolts. While in Indiana, The 5-foot-10, 174 pound Hall registered three assists in his limited games.

The 2017-18 season begins Friday, October 20 when the RiverKings host the Knoxville Ice Bears. The first 500 fans in attendance at the home opener will receive a magnet schedule. It’s also the team’s first Friends and Family Night of the season.
