RiverKings Make First Signings of 2017-18

SOUTHAVEN, Miss - The Mississippi RiverKings and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser announced Thursday that the team has signed forwards Devin Mantha and Donny Flynn.

Mantha begins his fifth season with the RiverKingsMantha, 28, begins his fifth season for the RiverKings having amassed 63 goals and 87 assists in 170 games played. A native of Ann Arbor, MI, Mantha played college hockey at Miami University (Ohio) and the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire before coming to Mississippi to start his professional career with the RiverKings. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound winger quickly became a fan favorite and served as the RiverKings captain in 2016-17. Mantha also spent time during each of the past two seasons playing in the ECHL for the Norfolk Admirals and Fort Wayne Komets, respectively.

Flynn, 20, begins his professional career with Mississippi. The 5-foot-10, 201-pound forward from Randolph, NJ spent the last three years with the New Jersey Rockets of the Eastern Hockey League. Flynn finished the 2016-17 season atop the EHL in scoring, tallying 18 goals and 58 assists in 47 games played, an average of 1.62 points per game.
