RiverKings bring hockey to YMCA spring-break campers

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Mississippi RiverKings brought hockey equipment and a new sport to the students of Nuber YMCA's spring break camp Wednesday, March 23.

"The Mississippi RiverKings were amazing at our camp today, our campers were way into learning about Hockey," said Brett Stamps, Nuber YMCA's director of Youth, Teens, and Camps.

The RiverKings brought nets and posters to the kids as a part of the RiverKings "Sticks Are For Kids" initiative, a program aimed at promoting the growth of the sport in the Mid-South area. Kids split into teams of six, and played seven minute games against each other, amidst the cheering support of their friends.

The RiverKings are back on home ice April 8 and 9 for their final home games of the regular season against the Pensacola Ice Flyers. Get tickets for both games starting at $10 per game by calling 662-342-1755 or visit riverkings.com for more information.
