SOUTHAVEN, Miss. – RiverKings players, Andrew Randazzo and Ryan Hill, headed out into the community to teach some Hockey 101 and read to Getwell Road UMC’s preschoolers on November 12.

Randazzo and Hill opened up the appearance by explaining how learning hockey as preschoolers helped them on their road to eventually becoming professional athletes.

Before Hill shared a children’s story, both players helped suit up a couple of volunteers in preschooler-sized goalie equipment. Before heading out, each child got a chance to work on their slap shots with help from their new RiverKings friends.

The two RiverKings’ players left quite an impression on all of the kids. Lisa Wimberly, a 4-year-old class teacher, said, “The children had a wonderful time listening to stories and learning how to play hockey!”

The RiverKings return home next weekend for a pair of games at the Landers Center in Southaven. Columbus visits the Mid-South for the first time this season on Friday night, while Huntsville comes to town on Saturday. Both games start at 7:05 p.m.
