The RiverKings closed out their 2012-13 regular season with a 4-2 loss at home against the Knoxville Ice Bears. After the Ice Bears jumped out to a three-goal lead, the RiverKings battled back in the third with two goals in a 23 second span. Tom Craig and Ian Finnerty each found the back of the net against Connor Toomey to bring the RiverKings within one, but Knoxville's Eric Satim's power-play goal with under three minutes left in regulation pushed the Ice Bears over the RiverKings.

IT'S NOT HOW YOU START, IT'S HOW YOU FINISH: The RiverKings enter the post-season as arguably the league's hottest team and they face the league's coldest in Louisiana. With points in nine of their last 12 games, the RiverKings have all the momentum heading into round one. The IceGators have struggled throughout the last two weeks. The 'Gators have lost four straight going into Wednesday's game.

BARCZUK RETURNS: Daniel Barczuk returns to the RiverKings after spending a bulk of the 2012-13 campaign with the Bloomington Blaze (CHL). Prior to his call-up, Barczuk, 24, posted eight points (3G, 5A) in 11 games. The Livonia, Mich. native appeared in 48 games with the Blaze this season, notching 19 points (12G, 7A).

SEASON SERIES: The RiverKings hold a 3-4-2 record against Louisiana this season. The last time these two teams met was on Saturday, February 16 at the Landers Center in Southaven when the RiverKings knocked off the 'Gators 5-1. Chris Campanale scored the first three goals of the game and Matt Krahn stopped 39 of 40 shots against in the victory.

FRIDAY FUNDAY: The RiverKings return to the Landers Center on Friday, March 29 to take on the IceGators in game two of the three-game series. Tickets for game two stand at $5 for upper bowl seats and $10 for the lower bowl.
