Peter Di Salvo named to All-SPHL Second Team

HUNTERSVILLE, NC – The Southern Professional Hockey League on Thursday announced its 2014-2015 All-SPHL Second Team as selected in a vote of league coaches, general managers and media representatives. Mississippi RiverKings goalie Peter Di Salvo was named the lone goalie on the All-SPHL Second Team.

"Our goaltending has been the strength of our team since day one," Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser said. "Peter has been a big part of that."

Di Salvo, 24, is in his first season with the RiverKings. He played 30 games during the regular season and was 19-8-0 with a 2.36 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage. He finished tied for second in the SPHL in goals-against average and was third in wins. The Oakville, Ontario native posted two shutouts, the first two of his professional career.

The RiverKings will host Game 2 of the First Round of the President's Cup Playoffs against the Pensacola Ice Flyers Friday, April 3 at 7:05 p.m. at the Landers Center. Fans are encouraged to wear green for a "Green Out" and those who do will save $2 on select tickets at the Box Office.
