Mississippi RiverKings finalize front office

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. - The Mississippi RiverKings announced today that they have finalized their front office staff for the 2014-15 season.

The RiverKings have hired Lukas Favale as their new radio play-by-play announcer. Favale will broadcast all 56 games during the 2014-15 season. He replaces David Schmoll, who was named the team's Director of Business Operations earlier this week.

“Lukas brings to us an American Hockey League caliber broadcast and is someone our fans are going to enjoy listening to this season,” Schmoll said. “With his addition to our returning staff from last year, I’m excited about what we’ll be able to accomplish in 2014-15.”

A native of New Jersey, Favale spent the last two seasons with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch, where, among other duties, he called over a dozen games on the radio. That includes the clinching game of the 2013 Calder Cup Finals between the Crunch and the Grand Rapid Griffins. Favale attended Syracuse University, where he studied broadcast and digital journalism.

"It's an honor to join such a respected organization like the RiverKings," Favale said. "The staff has been building something special here in Southaven and I'm excited to be a part of the team."

Favale joins the returning staff which, in addition to David Schmoll, includes Katie Callahan, Colby Dorris, Bradley Field, Caitlyn Hutchins, and Whitley Rives. Rives enters her 13th season with the RiverKings and remains the Director of Fundraising. Callahan is back for her second season as the team's Office Manager. Dorris begins his second season as the team's Ticket Operations and Accounting Manager. Field is in his second season as the Game Operations and Marketing Coordinator and Hutchins is back for her third season serving as the RiverKings' Community Development Coordinator.

The RiverKings open their 2014-15 quest for the President's Cup on October 24 and 25 at the Landers Center in Southaven, Miss. Receive a ticket to both games that weekend starting at $17 and get a free t-shirt. Groups of 15 or more who purchase tickets will receive complimentary tickets to a future RiverKings home game.
