Mantha named Easton Player of the Week

HUNTERSVILLE, NC – The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced Devin Mantha of the Mississippi RiverKings is the Easton Player of the Week for November 9-15.

Mantha scored two goals, added two assists and was +3 as he helped the RiverKings split a pair of games and maintain first place in the SPHL.

On Wednesday, the Ann Arbor, MI native scored his first goal of the season, a shorthanded tally, and added an assist as the RiverKings fell to Pensacola, 3-2. Mantha came back on Friday with another one-goal, one-assist performance as Mississippi defeated Macon 5-2.

Mantha currently leads the SPHL in assists (8) and power play assists (4), is second in scoring with 10 points and is riding a seven-game point streak. Mantha, the son of former NHL player Moe Mantha, played his college hockey at two schools, skating for Miami (Ohio) University from 2009 to 2011 and the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire from 2011 to 2013.

The RiverKings are back on Concorde Career College Ice at the Landers Center next on Friday, November 20 for 80s Night presented by Citizen's National Bank. All fans born in the 80s with a valid ID get half off all tickets and all fans in their 80s get in free. The MVP Non-Profit is the North Mississippi Trail Alliance.
