SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- The Mississippi RiverKings (18-23-8) took a lead into the later part of the third period, but ultimately fell to the Fayetteville FireAntz (30-15-3) in overtime, 4-3 at the Landers Center.

After 15 minutes of scoreless hockey, the 'Antz broke it open on Brett Liscomb's shot from the blueline that beat Matt Krahn blocker side to put the visitors up by one.

In the second, the 'Antz stretched their lead to two. Bobby Reed took a Josh McQuade pass and beat Krahn to give the FireAntz a 2-0 lead. But the 'Kings came back with two goals of their own. Chris Campanale batted a Kevin Willer rebound past Kyle Rank to cut the deficit to one. Five minutes later, Matt Whitehead beat Rank on a backhander over the glove of the 'Antz netminder to tie the game at two heading into the third.

Late in the third, the 'Kings took their first lead of the game. Kevin Willer took a Kyle Lundale pass and ripped it past Rank to put the 'Kings up with just 5:42 remaining in regulation. But Fayetteville came back three-and-a-half minutes later when Mike Kavanagh picked up a loose puck in the slot to beat Krahn and send the game to overtime.

It looked as though the game would go to a shootout, but Ben Contini beat Krahn high, glove side to give the 'Antz their fourth straight victory over the 'Kings.

Matt Krahn (10-13-4) stopped 33 of 37 shots against in the loss. Kyle Rank (9-7-2) picked up his fourth win against the 'Kings this season for the 'Antz after stopping 41 of 44 shots.
