SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- The Mississippi RiverKings (18-23-8) took a lead into the later part of the third period, but ultimately fell to the Fayetteville FireAntz (30-15-3) in overtime, 4-3 at the Landers Center.

After 15 minutes of scoreless hockey, the 'Antz broke it open on Brett Liscomb's shot from the blueline that beat Matt Krahn blocker side to put the visitors up by one.

In the second, the 'Antz stretched their lead to two. Bobby Reed took a Josh McQuade pass and beat Krahn to give the FireAntz a 2-0 lead. But the 'Kings came back with two goals of their own. Five minutes later, Matt Whitehead beat Rank on a backhander over the glove of the 'Antz netminder to tie the game at two heading into the third.

But Fayetteville came back three-and-a-half minutes later when Mike Kavanagh picked up a loose puck in the slot to beat Krahn and send the game to overtime.
