HOME, SWEET HOME: After their second Face Off Field Trip victory in as many games, the RiverKings remained perfect (4-0-0) at home through the early part of the season. Ian Finnerty leads the way for the RiverKings with eight points in four home games and is +6. Netminder Matthew Krahn is 3-0-0 at home with a 1.00 goals against average and a 95.7 save percentage.

'KINGS OF THE LEAGUE: Several RiverKings players find themselves atop the league in various categories. Finnerty, Daniel Barczuk, Andrew Randazzo and Nick Walsh find themselves in the top 10 for points through the team's seven games. Barczuk, Darrell Stoddard, Finnerty and Matt Whitehead are in the top 10 in goals scored while Randazzo's +7 rating is good for third in the Southern Professional Hockey League. Stoddard is tied for the league lead in penalty minutes (29) and he and Barczuk fill in two of the top three slots in shots on goal. Krahn's 1.25 goals against average is second best in the SPHL along with his 94.7 save percentage.

REVENGE ON THEIR MIND: The Mississippi Surge enter Friday's game as the only team to have shut out the RiverKings this season; a 5-0 loss in Biloxi two weeks ago. The Surge are without starting goaltender Kiefer Smiley as he was suspended for five games for his part in an altercation following last weekend's matchup with the Pensacola Ice Flyers... The Surge made headlines this week as they traded their top goal scorer, Shawn Skelly, to the Augusta RiverHawks for forward Brandon Kosolofsky.

ROAD WOES: The RiverKings return to the same building where their season ended last year when they visit Knoxville on Saturday to take on the Ice Bears. The RiverKings are 0-2-1 on the road after falling to the Louisiana IceGators last weekend 2-1 and 5-4 in a shootout.

SPHL CALL-UPS: Knoxville has been the first team to suffer from early season call-ups as goaltender Kyle Rank is currently on loan to Cincinnati (ECHL) and Mike Towns is on loan to Denver (CHL).

JERSEY AUCTION FRIDAY: The RiverKings will auction off their Military Appreciation Jerseys on Friday night against the Surge. Bids for jerseys will begin at $250 and fans will bid on the chance to have first selection at the jersey of their choice. The team will auction 10 jerseys live, with the rest to be auctioned online.

The RiverKings hit the ice this weekend as they take on the Mississippi Surge at 7:05 p.m. Friday night on Military Appreciation Night. All military members with ID get in for $5 anywhere in the building.

The Mississippi RiverKings are supported by their community partners, season ticket holders, fans, and by program-related investments of the Maddox Foundation, an independent private foundation based in Hernando, Miss.
