Joey Holka signs with RiverKings

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. – Mississippi RiverKings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser announced today that the team has signed right wing Joey Holka to a contract. Terms and conditions were not released.

Holka, 24, is in his first pro season and played three games with the Utah Grizzlies in the ECHL. He made his professional debut with Utah Jan. 10 and did not record a point in three games. The Phoenix, Arizona native played three seasons at St. Cloud State from 2011 to 2014 and was a member of their Frozen Four run in 2012-13. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound forward had 14 points in 80 career games at St. Cloud State.

The RiverKings are back home Friday, Jan. 23 for Sci-Fi Night against the Peoria Rivermen. Fans dressed in Sci-Fi costume get a half-priced ticket at the Landers Center Box Office. The 501st will be at the game and take part in the ceremonial puck drop. Single-game tickets can be purchased at riverkings.com/ticketmaster and groups of 15 or more get a discount, with group tickets starting at $8 per ticket, by calling the front office at 662-342-1755.
