LAFAYETTE, La. -- The Louisiana IceGators (14-8-1) scored 32 seconds into regulation and never looked back as the Mississippi RiverKings (12-12-3) fell in their last game of 2012 by the score of 6-3 Monday night.

The IceGators found the back of the net on their first shot of the game when Matt Robertson took Denny Kearney's pass and beat Matthew Krahn to put the hometeam up 1-0 just 32 seconds into the opening frame. Louisiana added a second goal on the power play when Kearney's pass found Robertson out in front to give the 'Gators a 2-0 lead going into the first intermission.

In the second, Louisana added to their lead. Matt Robertson collected his second goal of the night and Clark Byczynski tallied his fourth goal of the year as the 'Gators extended their lead to four after seven minutes of the middle frame.

Ian Finnerty picked up his first of two goals on the night at the 7:13 mark of the second period as he beat Riley Gill to cut the deficit to three. But Jordan Foreman gave the 'Gators their lead back five minutes later as he tipped the puck past Krahn to give Louisiana a 5-1 lead heading into the second intermission.

In the third, the RiverKings chipped away. Ian Finnerty tallied his second goal of the night on a shot from the high slot that beat Gill glove side to bring the score to 5-2. The two teams then traded goals in a 12 second span. Kyle OKane put a shot past Krahn before Matt Harrington's unassisted goal for the RiverKings ended the scoring for both teams as the RiverKings fell 6-3.

Matthew Krahn (7-7-2) took the loss after stopping 25 of 31 shots against. Riley Gill (12-6-0) picked up the win stopping 28 of 31 shots against.
