Hosmer returns to RiverKings for fourth season

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- Mississippi RiverKings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser announced today that forward Todd Hosmer has re-signed for the 2016-17 campaign. Terms and conditions were not released.

"Todd's a proven goal scorer and is a threat every time he is on the ice," Landmesser said. "He's physical and plays in all situations for us. Having him here from the start of the season, I'm looking for him to have a big year."

Hosmer, 28, returns to the RiverKings for his fifth professional season and his fourth with the RiverKings.

"It was a no-brainer for me to re-sign with the RiverKings. It's a second home to me and the fans are like family," said Hosmer. "Coming into this season, I know what to expect out of myself and I look forward to working hard day in and day out to bring a championship to Southaven."

Hosmer originally joined the RiverKings after his senior season at SUNY-Morrisville in 2012. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound forward tallied 34 points (15G, 19A) and was named to the SPHL All-Rookie team before earning a spot on the All-SPHL First Team in 2013-14 after a 55 point (37G, 18A) campaign in 40 games. Last season, the Scarborough, Ontario native split time between ECHL Wichita and SPHL Knoxville before being acquired by the RiverKings in January. He went on to average a point-per-game with the RiverKings with eight goals and 18 assists in 26 games.
