HUNTERSVILLE, NC -- The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) on Thursday announced that Shawn McNeil of the Louisiana IceGators has been selected as the Easton Most Valuable Player in a vote of league coaches, general managers and media representatives. Todd Hosmer of the Mississippi RiverKings finished second in the voting.

"'Hos' had a great season for us," said RiverKings' Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser said. "It would have been interesting to see the kind of numbers he would have put up had he played all 56 games."

Hosmer, 26, appeared in 40 games with the RiverKings in 2013-14 and collected a league-leading 37 goals and 18 assists. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound native of Scarborough, Ont. played in all three playoff games with the team and picked up two goals and four assists.
