SOUTHAVEN, Miss.—
After a successful game one, the Mississippi RiverKings rebounded early at home, but fell to the visiting Huntsville Havoc by the score of 6-3 at the Landers Center in Southaven.

The game began with a couple of tilts as Anthony Pototschnik battled Chris Waterstradt before Kevin Fukala and Jon Pardy squared off. The RiverKings could not feed off that momentum throughout the first, as Huntsville took the first lead of the game with a goal from Chapen Leblond, 6:30 into the first period. The RiverKings would soon bounce back with a goal sixteen seconds later from Kevin Willer, unassisted.

But Huntsville dominated the scoreboard the rest of the frame. Ryan Mannu lit the lamp at the 12:11 mark before Andre Leclaire's second goal of the exhibition schedule gave the Havoc a two-goal lead heading into the first intermission.

In the second period, each team picked up a goal with Justin Fox extending the Havoc lead to three before Matt Whitehead's first preseason goal cut the lead back to two at the 13:20 mark.

The third period saw much of the same as Huntsville tallied two more goals to push their lead to 6-2. Stuart Stefan scored on a breakaway just a minute and a half before Leblond notched his second goal of the game. The RiverKings would then add one more with Jeremy Dawes' first goal of the preseason, but it would not be enough as the 'Kings fell to Huntsville 6-3.

David Wilson and Matthew Krahn split time between the pipes tonight for the RiverKings and Dan McIntosh and Jonathan LaRose shared the duties for the Havoc. Wilson made nine saves on 13 shots, while Krahn stopped eight of ten for the 'Kings. McIntosh turned away nine of ten before giving way to LaRose, who stopped 11 of 13.

The RiverKings open their 21st season of hockey in the Mid-South with a pair of home games October 26 and 27th at the Landers Center. Tickets are on sale now and start at just $11!
