Gladiators Open the Fall Season with Two Big Wins

HERNANDO, Miss. — The puck dropped to begin the Jr. StreetKings fall season on Monday, August 11, and the Gladiators haven't stopped scoring yet.

Game one of the fall season included the Super Drugs Stars, coached by veteran Jamie Berryhill, and the Gladiators, coached by rookie Matt McLeane. McLeane’s Gladiators dominated the game behind huge offensive showings by Austin Wiggins and Zack White. Both players combined for seven goals and two assists.

Game two featured the Gladiators and the W.E. Middleton Jr., DDS. Sharks, coached by Tritt Mapes. The Sharks began the game with three quick goals, two by Carson Middleton. Then, the Gladiators flexed their muscles and ran out to an 11-4 halftime lead. They used that big lead and  a strong game by Samuel McLeane to cruise to a 17-10 victory and first place in the standings.

Game three became a fight for second place early in the season between the Sharks and Stars. The Stars had a 9-3 first half lead and never looked back as they cruised to the 17-10 win and sole possession of second place. Hunter Cleary and Landon Ellis combined for eight goals and four assists.
