Fukala Takes His Testimony to Grenada

Once his hockey career comes to a conclusion, Kevin Fukala may have found his second calling.

The 27-year-old native of Chicago, Illinois made his second appearance at a youth church event in the past 14 days, this time at Christ Community Church in Grenada, Miss. The crowded room of high school students listened as Fukala shared the tale of his troubled youth. Several of the young people in the room were moved to tears as Fukala struggled to keep control of his own emotions as he reflected on his past.

Jack Myners, a youth leader at Christ Community Church, believes that by having athletes speak to the youth, that it gives the kids a different perspective on faith.

“It was a great blessing having Kevin Fukala to come down and give his Testimony to the students," said Myners. "The kids have a new look on being in a sport and loving Jesus."

The RiverKings forward gave the students hope as he transitioned into how his life changed through the faith he found in Jesus Christ. Fukala encouraged those in attendance to "do what was right, even if it may not be the popular thing", along with several other life lessons.
