November 28, 2011

Southaven, Miss—Mississippi RiverKings’ forward Kevin Fukala has been called up by the Dayton Gems (CHL).

In 5 games, the 6-2 University of Central Oklahoma product registered one goal and 19 penalty minuts.

“We’re very excited for Kevin to make the jump to the next level,” Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Derek Landmesser said. “We wish him all the best.”

Last season, Fukala split time between the ECHL, CHL and SPHL with Bloomington, Florida and Augusta respectively.

The Elgin, IL native signed as a free agent with the RiverKings on November 11. He is the second RiverKing to get a call-up. Scott Darling spent time earlier this season with the Florida Everblades (ECHL).

Great tickets are still available for the RiverKings’ 20th Anniversary Season sponsored by Belhaven University. December 3rd is Autism Awareness Night. The RiverKings will wear special jerseys designed by CAKEtabulous, which will be auctioned off after the game. A portion of the proceeds will go to Assists for Autism.

On December 10, the RiverKings will have their annual Teddy Bear Toss. Bring a teddy bear to the game and when the RiverKings score their first goal, it will rain bears on the ice. All teddy bears donated will go to Toys for Tots.

For more information on group tickets for Autism Awareness Night, the Teddy Bear Toss or for flex ticket packages, contact the RiverKings front office at 662-342-1755 or log onto www.riverkings.com.
