SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- Mississippi RiverKings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser announced that the team has signed forward Tom Craig for the 2013-14 season. Terms and conditions were not released.

"I am excited to have 'Craiger' back in the Mid-South," Landmesser said. "He came in at the end of last season and made an immediate impact. He is a very intelligent player that can play in all situations for us."

After getting a taste of the playoffs last year, Craig looks to help the team go deeper in the post-season in his first full-season.

"Losing the way we did in the playoffs really left a bad taste in my mouth, so coming into this year I want to do my part to bring a championship to the Mid-South," Craig said. "We had a great group of veteran players that really showed us the way. I hope to carry on that winning tradition they instilled in us last year and pass it down to the new guys."

Craig, 24, signed with the RiverKings as a free agent on February 12, 2013 and appeared in 12 games with the team last season. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound forward notched eight points (4G, 4A) during the regular season and had four points (1G, 3A) in three playoff games. The St. Louis, Mo. native played collegiately for the University of Windsor, tallying 14 points in his three-year college career.

The RiverKings open their 2013-14 quest for the President's Cup at home on October 26 against the Louisiana IceGators. Group tickets start at $8 and are available by contacting the RiverKings front office at 662-342-1755.
