Face Off Field Trip games scheduled for Dec. 8 and Jan. 26

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. – The Mississippi RiverKings, the longest continually operating professional sports franchise in the greater Memphis area, are proud to announce the dates for their two Face Off Field Trips during the 2015-16 season. This year's Face Off Field Trips will be the 17th and 18th field trips offered by the RiverKings to area schools.

The first Face Off Field Trip of 2015-16 is scheduled for Tuesday, December 8 at 10:35 a.m. at the Landers Center. The game is designed for Middle School students, although all students are invited to attend. The final Face Off Field Trip of the season will take place at 10:35 a.m. on Tuesday, January 26 and is designed for Elementary School students, although it is also open to any school that would like to attend.

Each student in attendance receives a customized Face Off Field Trip workbook, which is designed using the latest education standards and is approved by a panel of local teachers. Throughout the field trip, RiverKings Emcees will prompt students to answer questions from the workbook on the "KingTron" video board for a chance to win prizes. Students keep the workbook as a souvenir and teachers can use them in the classroom to supplement lessons long after the game.

Face Off Field Trip is designed to spark learning by using professional hockey to demonstrate learning concepts and healthy choices. The RiverKings were one of the first professional sports teams to attempt an educational game for schools and the concept has now been adopted by many teams. The field trip costs $5 per students for DeSoto County Schools, with $3 going directly to the Superintendent Youth Leadership Council (SYLC). For students outside of DeSoto County Schools, the field trip costs $2 per student.

Ticket packages for the 24th season of RiverKings hockey start at just $24.75 by calling 662-342-1755. The home opener is scheduled for Friday, October 23 at the Landers Center and groups of 15 or more who purchase a group for that night will receive an identical group package to any other regular season game for free.
