WEEKEND RECAP: Friday night the RiverKings wrapped up their home portion of the 2013-14 season with a win over the Knoxville Ice Bears 4-3. Down by one in the third, the RiverKings stormed back with two goals in the final frame including Sean Jones' game-winning goal with eight seconds remaining in regulation. After the game, the team packed their bags and headed south for a final tilt against their in-state rivals, the Mississippi Surge. The RiverKings silenced the crowd at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum with four goals, including two on the power play, to take the 4-1 win on the road.

RIVERKINGS: After finishing the season on a three-game winning streak, the RiverKings head to Huntsville, poised to make a run at the President's Cup

  • The RiverKings split the eight-game season series against the Havoc as both teams held a 4-3-1 mark, but outscored Huntsville 21-18.
  • With 29 power play opportunities throughout the eight-game series, the RiverKings scored five man-advantage goals (17.2%).
  • The RiverKings, who will play the series on the road, finished the regular season with the best road power play unit in the league, connecting on 32 of 136 man-advantage opportunities (23.5%).
  • The RiverKings finished the season a perfect 10-0-0 when leading after two periods of play away from the Landers Center.

HUNTSVILLE: The Havoc come into the playoffs winners of three of their last five at home, including a 3-2 victory over the Cottonmouths to finish out the regular season.

  • After losing the first three games of the season series against the RiverKings, the Havoc went on to win four of the next five including one shootout victory.
  • With their three goals in Saturday's home win, the Havoc have scored 99 goals this season at the Von Braun Center, ranking them third in the league in goals scored on home ice.
  • Although the Havoc registered a losing record on the road this season, the team boasted a league-leading 21 wins on home ice.
  • The Havoc finished the season sixth in the league on the power play with a 15.24 success rate, but struggled throughout the season against the RiverKings, who held them to just three man-advantage goals on 33 opportunities.

TURTLE SNAPS: Defenseman Andrew Randazzo finished the regular season with 30 assists on the year ranking him second among defenseman in the league, and led the league with 18 of  those assists coming on the power play. ...With his two power play goals in Saturday night's regular season finale, Todd Hosmer finished the year with a league-best 37 goals including 18 with the man-advantage. ...The RiverKings Captain Leo Thomas finished the season with a team best plus/minus of +21.
