SPLIT WEEK: The Mississippi RiverKings took four of a possible eight points last week, falling to the Pensacola Ice Flyers before knocking off the Knoxville Ice Bears in Knoxville. The 'Kings then split a home and home series with the Huntsville Havoc with each team winning their home game.

IT'S THE BUSIEST TIME OF THE YEAR: The 'Kings are currently in the midst of a stretch where they hit the ice 11 times in 19 days. They take on the Mississippi Surge on Wednesday night, as they look for their first victory against their cross-state rivals this season. Columbus pays a visit to the Landers Center on Friday, December 28 for the second time this season before the RiverKings travel to Knoxville for the fourth time this season to take on the Ice Bears. The RiverKings are 1-0-0 against Columbus and 1-1-1 against Knoxville.

KEEP UP IF YOU CAN: Rookie forward Todd Hosmer continued his point streak this week as he has now recorded a point in his last eight games, with 10 points in that span (6G, 4A). He also has recorded a goal in his last four games.

WELCOME TO SOUTHAVEN: Last week, the RiverKings signed forwards Matt Harrington and Mike MacDonald to three-game tryout contracts. In his first action with the 'Kings, Harrington scored a goal in the 5-2 victory against the Ice Bears. Harrington replaced Brendan Taylor on the line with Ian Finnerty and Nick Walsh after Taylor was waived. MacDonald went +1 in Sunday's game against Huntsville.

VIEW FROM BILOXI: The Mississippi Surge enter Wednesday's game having gone 1-2-0 last weekend. Tommy Lange, who spent time with the Tulsa Oilers of the Central Hockey League earlier this year, leads the team in points with 24 (11G, 13A). Corey Tamblyn leads the way for the Surge with five points against the RiverKings this season and is +4 through three games.

ROSTER CHANGES: While the Surge search for consistency, their roster has gone through a shuffle. Forward Derek Graham opted for retirement on December 19, before the team waived Richard Vanderhoek and placed defenseman Brad Good on season-ending IR. To replace those players, the team signed forwards Reid Edmonson and Anthony Collins along with defenseman Jarkko Leppanen. The trio has totaled two assists since coming to Biloxi.

VIEW FROM COLUMBUS: After a slow start to the season, the Columbus Cottonmouths have turned it around as of late. They enter this week's action on four-game winning streak and will take on the Knoxville Ice Bears on Thursday, in Knoxville, before traveling to Southaven. Matt Gingera, who played his first game for the Snakes against the RiverKings on December 1, has eight points (4G, 4A) in his eight games with Columbus.

VIEW FROM KNOXVILLE: The Ice Bears and RiverKings meet in Knoxville for the fourth time this season. When the two teams meet, the Ice Bears will finish a three-in-three weekend as they take on Columbus and the Augusta RiverHawks in the two days prior to Saturday. The Ice Bears are currently on a three-game losing streak with all three losses coming at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum. The Ice Bears have been without the assistance of forward and captain David Segal, who has been out with a shoulder injury.
