Bronner Named Easton Player of the Week

HUNTERSVILLE, NC - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced Phil Bronner of the Mississippi RiverKings is the Easton Player of the Week for January 13-19.

Bronner, who was acquired in a trade with Knoxville earlier in the week, made an immediate impact by scoring three goals, two of which were game-winners, as the RiverKings swept a pair of games and moved into a tie for first place in the standings.

On Friday, the Wilbraham, MA native scored both of Mississippi’s second period goals as the RiverKings defeated Louisiana 3-2. Bronner gained a measure of revenge against his former club on Saturday as he scored a power-play goal 1:11 into overtime to defeat Knoxville 4-3.

Before turning pro, Bronner played four seasons at UMass-Dartmouth, where he led the team in goals his senior season.
