Knoxville, Tenn. - The Mississippi RiverKings battled back late in the third, but were unable to keep their season alive as they fell 6-3 to Knoxville in a decisive Game 3 in the first round of the SPHL Playoffs.

The Ice Bears got the scoring started early in the first period as Dan Bremner ripped a slap shot past Scott Darling to give Knoxville the early 1-0 lead.

Eleven seconds later the RiverKings tied it up as Deven Stillar took a Ken Selby pass, weaved through the slot and beat Kyle Rank as the two teams skated into the first intermission tied at one.

Knoxville picked up the lone tally in the second period as Eric Satim picked up a goal on the power play after the puck bounced off of the official and allowed the Ice Bears to set up the go-ahead-goal.

The flood gates opened in the third period as Knoxville scored two goals in the first four minutes. Brett Valliquette and Emery Olauson's goals the Ice Bears a 4-1 lead with just 16:14 left in regulation.

But the RiverKings came back. Kyle Lundale's shot from the point found the stick of Deven Stillar as the RiverKings' forward put home his second goal of the night and the 'Kings were within one. Just five minutes later, Lundale found an opening shooting lane off a face-off to beat Rank to cut the deficit to one.

However, Knoxville would not allow the RiverKings another goal. Dan Bremner picked up two insurance goals in the final 10 minutes of play as the Ice Bears ended the 'Kings' season with a 6-3 defeat.

Scott Darling (0-1-0) picked up the loss after stopping 16 of 21 shots against. Kyle Rank (2-1-0) tallied his second professional playoff win, stopping 41 of 44 shots against.
