Boyle talks to kids about bullying

HERNANDO, Miss - Mississippi RiverKings Defenseman Tim Boyle spent the mornings of the 19th and 20th speaking to local pre-k classes about bullying, and what they can do to stop such behavior.

"The 'fighting' is often one of the highlights of the game and most memorable. Often times, children imitate that. So, to hear a player talk about how they are really friends is hugely impactful!" Lacey HIlliard of Hernando United Methodist Church said. "The children kept repeating, "We must be nice!" over and over."

Boyle visited Hernando's various "Excel by 5 Centers" raising awareness about bullying in schools. Students were encouraged to share their thoughts on subject, and Boyle reminded kids to report bullying to their teachers, while also teaching them about the warning signs of bullying behavior.

The RiverKings return to Concorde Career College Ice at the Landers Center on Friday, January 22 at 7:05 p.m. in a rematch against the Louisiana IceGators. It's the annual Dachshund Dash presented by Autobahn Indoor Speedway. Come for the hockey and stay for our wiener dog races on ice during the first intermission.
