Bahm tallies two as RiverKings double Macon, 4-2

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. - Linden Bahm tallied two goals and Todd Hosmer collected three assists in his first game since being acquired from Knoxville as the Mississippi RiverKings (16-9-6) knocked off the Macon Mayhem (13-17-3) 4-2 on Friday night on Concorde Career College Ice at Landers Center.

The RiverKings scored a pair of goals in the first to take an early lead. Charlie Mosey picked up a rebound in front of Garrett Bartus and slid it to the back of the net to put the RiverKings on top just 1:08 into the first. Then, on the power play, Linden Bahm took a cross-ice pass and lifted it over Bartus to give the RiverKings a 2-0 lead 8:30 into the first frame.

In the second, the Mayhem battled back early with two goals in 1:18. Michael Wills found the back of the net on the power play just 4:37 into the second. Then, Lucas LaBelle forced a turnover in the RiverKings zone and his shot from the high slot beat Garrett Sheehan over the glove to tie the game at two.

The RiverKings retook the lead late in the third. Bahm notched his second goal of the night as he picked up a loose puck after a blocked shot and rifled it to the back of the net to put the RiverKings on top 3-2 with under 10 minutes to play in the second. Mike Grace added an insurance goal 7:41 into the third with a wrist shot over Bartus to give the RiverKings a 4-2 victory.

With the win, RiverKings Head Coach Derek Landmesser becomes the winningest coach in RiverKings history with 129 wins, surpassing Doug Shedden.

Garrett Sheehan (2-5-4) picked up the win after stopping 31 of 33 shots against. Garrett Bartus (10-14-3) stopped 29 of 33 shots against in the loss.

The RiverKings capitalized on their lone power play opportunity, while Macon scored on one of their two chances.
