Southaven, Miss. - Three goals late in the third period brought the RiverKings within two, but they could not overcome Fayetteville's five-goal lead as they fell 5-3 to the FireAntz in front of an announced crowd of 4,560 on Pack the House and National Wild Turkey Federation jersey night at the Landers Center in Southaven.

The RiverKings fell behind early in the game as Chris Leveille beat 'Kings netminder David Wilson on a breakaway feed from Sean Cryer and newcomer Jesse Cole to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.

Fayetteville added to their lead in the second period as Chris Rebernik converted on a Mike Forgie pass on a shorthanded two-on-one to put the 'Antz up two. Seven minuts later, Jesse Biduke picked up his fourth goal in as many games against the RiverKings as he pushed the lead to three heading into the third period.

The third period opened with a pair of goals in the first three and a half minutes. Chris Leveille scored his second goal of the night and Josh McQuade converted on a two-on-one to beat David Wilson blocker side to bring the lead to five and ending Wilson's night.

But the RiverKings did not go down quietly. At the 13:03 mark of the period, Chev Wilson picked up his first career professional goal as he buried home a Mike Tuomi pass to cut the deficit to four. Just under two minutes later, Leland Fidler ripped a Wilson pass over the glove side of Mike Brown to bring the score to 5-2. Thirty seconds later, Ken Selby connected with Cameron Sault as Sault picked up his third goal of the season and with four minutes remaining, the 'Kings were within two.

A late penalty by Forgie gave the RiverKings a power play with three minutes to go. With Scott Darling pulled, the 'Kings could not find the magic to pick up the last two goals as the winning streak ended at five games.

David Wilson took the loss as he stopped 12 of 17 shots against as he fell to 9-5-2. Scott Darling stopped all three shots against him in 16:48 minutes of action in relief of Wilson. Mike Brown stopped 33 of 36 shots against as he improved to 12-15-3 on the season.

The special jersey auction after the game raised $4,980 for the National Wild Turkey Federation. For more information on NWTF, check out their website nwtf.org.
