Sova becomes RiverKings first call-up of season

SOUTHAVEN, Miss.  -- Mississippi RiverKings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser announced today that defenseman has been called up to ECHL Fort Wayne. Di Salvo Stops 26 as RiverKings Extinguish FireAntz

RiverKings extend one, add veteran to IR

SOUTHAVEN, Miss.  -- Mississippi RiverKings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser moved goaltender Alex Caffi from 14-day to 21-day Injured Reserve and placed assistant captain Todd Hosmer on 14-day Injured Reserve. RiverKings acquire veteran defenseman Sova

SOUTHAVEN, Miss.  -- Mississippi RiverKings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser announced the acquisition of defenseman Joe Sova from the Peoria Rivermen in exchange for defenseman Donald Olivieri. Sova, 28, comes to the RiverKings after collecting four assists in seven games with Peoria this season. RiverKings Drop Game to Ice Bears 3-0

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. –  It was a shutout loss for the Mississippi RiverKings (3-3-0) Saturday night as they fell 3-0 to the Knoxville Ice Bears (5-1-0) at the Landers Center. The RiverKings power play would have a tough night going 0-8 but the penalty kill would blank the Ice Bears as well.
